About Oscar
Meet Oscar! This approximately 4-year-old Pit Bull mix has a gentle heart and a loyal spirit. After making the journey from Mississippi with his best friend, Winston, Oscar is adjusting well to busy Stamford. He enjoys spending time playing with other dogs and is currently improving his leash skills. Although city life can be a bit overwhelming for him, he's building confidence daily. Oscar particularly loves walks around Harbor Point with our volunteers and is learning to seek comfort from his humans when feeling unsure. At first, Oscar might seem shy, but with a little patience, you'll find an incredibly affectionate buddy who will stay by your side. Once you've earned his trust, he’ll happily be your shadow and biggest supporter. Oscar is friendly with dogs when introduced properly, and he might do well with a dog companion, too. We're not certain about his compatibility with cats or young children, but we’re open to testing those interactions. Oscar is currently heartworm positive and receiving treatment through our veterinary partners at VCA Darien. Lucky Dog Refuge will cover the full cost of his treatment; all he needs now is a loving family while he completes his health journey. If you’re looking for a loyal dog blossoming into a confident companion, Oscar could be the perfect addition to your home. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and let's get started.
