About Simon
Meet Simon, the gentle Dogo Argentino. At about two years old and 95 lbs, he loves women and children, though he can take a little time to warm up to some men. Simon's nurturing side shines when he’s with his young human friends, often settling down beside them for snuggles at night. He does well with larger dogs, making him a good fit for homes with other big breeds, ideally a non-dominant female. Be aware, though, Simon has shown some resource guarding tendencies during playtime, which is something to manage given his size. A reinforced crate is essential for him while alone, as he can be a touch destructive if left unwatched. He enjoys the crate and is usually relaxed in it when you return home. While Simon thrives in the company of other dogs, he can also adapt to being the only pet, bringing joy and companionship to any home. This sweet boy shows some signs of hearing impairment but responds well to louder voices and noises. He walks well on a leash and is fully house trained. Despite his tough past from a high-kill shelter, Simon bears no grudges and is ready to spread love to a lucky family. If you’re interested in meeting Simon, check out our adoption application. He’s waiting to find his forever home!
