Chimi’s whole body wiggles with happiness, and you can see his spirit shine through everything he does. He arrived at a rural Kansas animal shelter feeling terrified after being surrendered. Fortunately, compassionate animal control officers recognized that Chimichanga deserved a nurturing environment. They reached out to Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue, which welcomed him into a loving foster home. In his foster care, Chimichanga has blossomed. He's a classic “Velcro dog,” always beside his foster mom, whether she’s filling her coffee cup or working at her desk. This clinginess isn't because he’s needy; it stems from his past experiences when he learned that those he loved could disappear. His heart longs for steady companionship. Chimi thrives while playing in the yard with his furry siblings and especially enjoys his time with a senior “pocket dog.” He’s gradually gaining confidence, learning that life can be safe and filled with love. We suspect he might have experienced hunger, leading him to prefer eating separately from other dogs, but he’s starting to relax and enjoy regular meals. At the end of the day, nothing brings him more joy than snuggling up on the couch for a cozy movie night. Chimichanga is smart and eager to learn important house manners and walk nicely on a leash. He adores people and greets everyone with hope, longing for the love he clearly deserves.
