About Adora

Adora is a delightful 2-year-old, 22 lb girl who has a heart full of love. She was rescued from a gas station along the Texas/Mexico border, where she spent much of her early life surrounded by stray dogs. The employees alerted the rescue about her, and they stepped in to give her a safer life this past July. This charming girl is not only great with cats but also friendly with dogs, although she can thrive as the only dog, too. Adora is leash trained, which makes walks a breeze. A funny quirk of hers is how she throws herself in front of you, rolling onto her back for belly rubs if she suspects you might be leaving. She’s calm yet lights up with human attention, likely because she hasn't received much during her time at the gas station. Adora loves to explore and would make an excellent adventure partner, as well as a cozy companion at home. For those living in apartments, she would appreciate plenty of activities or doggy daycare. Adora is crate trained and making progress on her house training, so she needs a patient home willing to help her continue learning. She knows how to sit and thrives on pleasing her people. A household with more time for her rather than less would be ideal. Adora is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives. She is located in Gregory, TX, and potential adopters must be in the Central US or on the East Coast, where she can be transported every couple of weeks. The adoption fee includes this transport. Your new best friend is waiting for you!
