Meet Elbow! Elbow is a 4-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix with an easygoing personality and a heart full of love. His journey began before he was even born when his mom, Colander, came to our rescue pregnant and suffering from severe heartworms. Shortly after arriving, she required an emergency C-section to safely deliver her beautiful litter. Thanks to incredible veterinary care, lots of love, and one amazing mama, Elbow and his siblings are now healthy, happy, and ready to find families of their own. Elbow is expected to grow into a medium to large-sized dog. His mom weighs about 52 pounds, and while dad remains a mystery, we know this sweet boy has a bright future ahead of him. Unlike many puppies who are always on the go, Elbow is more of a laid-back guy. He enjoys playtime and gets along well with other dogs, but he's just as happy relaxing and taking life at his own pace. He graduates from the Puppies for Parole program on August 7, where he's been learning the skills to become a wonderful companion. Like any young puppy, Elbow is still working on house training. He and his kennelmate usually keep their living area clean, and any occasional accidents happen simply because they can't always get outside in time—they're still figuring it all out. With consistency, patience, and a regular routine, he'll continue making great progress in his new home. Elbow will be neutered on August 20 and will be ready to go home after his surgery.
