About Hercules
Meet Hercules! This big-headed former tom cat has a unique charm that we truly appreciate at ARL. He joined us through our Community Cat Program and will need a gentle transition into your home. Initially, we recommend confining him to a cozy space, like a crate, to help him acclimate to his new environment. This will give him a chance to safely explore without the risk of getting lost. While he adjusts, some behaviors may change, and it’s essential to be patient. If Hercules purred here, he will certainly do so again in your home, but it might take a bit. It’s vital to engage him with positive experiences, like feeding him wet food while you gently pet him. If he’s wary of hands, start by hand-feeding him to build trust. If you have a friendly cat, their presence can be comforting for him during this adjustment. Hercules is up to date on vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, and he's already been neutered and microchipped. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY, but please note that we can't facilitate same-day adoptions due to paperwork requirements.
