About Lupo
Lupo is a lively, 20-pound Pug with an infectious personality ready to embrace life as a cherished family member. Approximately 2 years old, Lupo arrived in rescue after a difficult start in a hoarding situation, but her future is bright and she’s making great strides learning what it means to be a beloved companion. Everyday experiences are still fresh for Lupo. Initially unfamiliar with stairs, leashes, or household sounds, she has shown remarkable curiosity and a desire to learn as she gains confidence. Her playful and affectionate nature shines through as she enjoys fetch, loves her stuffed toys, and has fun zooming around in typical Pug fashion. After her play sessions, she snuggles up next to her favorite person for a nap. Lupo travels well in a car and settles nicely in her crate. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would thrive with a confident canine buddy to help her navigate new situations. Although sometimes a bit overexcited around new dogs, her ideal family will guide her through polite introductions. Lupo also interacts wonderfully with respectful children but has not been tested with cats. Currently about 95% house-trained, she benefits from a consistent routine that includes several short walks each day. She’s also kennel trained and generally sleeps quietly through the night, sharing the occasional Pug noise before settling in. Training is tapping into her patient and positive nature since she’s not particularly food motivated, thus continued training with positive reinforcement and perhaps basic obedience classes are encouraged. Lupo has been diagnosed with dry eye and requires medicated ointment twice daily for life, which currently costs about $65 per tube. Her future family should be aware of the potential for breed-specific health concerns, such as dental and eye care, and be ready to provide her with ongoing affection and medical attention. A home filled with love, patience, and consistency is essential for Lupo’s enrichment. Preference will be given to adopters with a friendly dog of similar size that can support her socialization, although families without another dog will be considered if they can ensure Lupo interacts regularly with other dogs. She thrives in quieter neighborhoods with multiple short walks to help her gain confidence. Given her adorable Pug sounds, a home without shared walls is preferred. If you’re in search of an affectionate companion ready to grow and blossom in a loving home, Lupo could be the perfect fit. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
