Genie is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees who has found her place as a house dog after a brief stint as a livestock guardian. Initially uninterested in her duties on the farm, she was happy to escape and now thrives in a home environment, loving the comforts of indoor life. This sweet and gentle girl may take a little time to warm up, but once she does, she’s quick to offer her trademark Pyr paw to remind you she’s there. Due to her previous home with young kids, it’s best that she goes to a family with older children who can respect her boundaries. Her former family is heartbroken to let her go but knows it’s the right choice. Genie is good with other dogs, as long as they share her calm demeanor; she isn’t interested in hyperactive or jumpy companions. In fact, she might prefer being the only dog in the home. She’s also cat-friendly and appreciates a serene atmosphere where she can relax. A fenced yard would be ideal for her to enjoy sunny days, but she also loves her daily walks. It’s important for her future family to have experience with the breed. Every dog is unique, and it’s essential to remember that Genie may need time to settle into a new environment.
