Meet Dudley! At 7 years old, he’s a gentle, sensitive soul searching for someone who will love him as he is. He came to us after a difficult period, having lived in a hoarding situation with his previous owner and two other dogs. After his owner's unexpected passing, the dogs were left alone for four days before being rescued, which understandably left Dudley feeling a bit wary of the world around him. Upon arrival, Dudley faced several challenges. His nails were overgrown, making walking painful for him, and he was significantly overweight. His previous experiences had left him frightened; he would scream when touched. Fast forward to today, and Dudley has shown remarkable resilience. He now enjoys gentle handling, walks on a leash with encouragement, and relishes his cozy crate. He gets along well with other dogs but prefers to hang out quietly rather than engage in play. Plus, Dudley is cat-friendly! What truly makes Dudley happy? Chicken! His strong food motivation has been key in helping him build confidence and trust. Dudley isn't the type to go hiking or fetch balls. He needs a patient, kind-hearted adopter who understands that love comes in different forms.
