Beau is a sensitive, intelligent Rough Collie who has had some rough patches but carries himself with surprising bravery. He’s quick to learn and eager to please, picking up on cues from people he trusts. Though he appreciates time outdoors, Beau feels safest inside, close to his comforts. After what was clearly a difficult past, he can be skittish—garage doors still rattle him, and a sudden noise sends him looking for a secure hiding spot. But each day in his foster home, his confidence grows, and glimpses of a relaxed, content Beau keep getting more frequent. He’s gentle with other dogs and is quite tolerant of other animals—including cats, ducks, and even turkeys. Beau’s interactions with them are always calm and polite, sometimes even affectionate. While he was housebroken before, he’ll need a little patience to reestablish that routine in a new environment, but thankfully, he is crate trained and truly seems to find comfort and safety there, even preferring to eat his meals in his crate. Due to ongoing skin issues, Beau will need a patient adopter who can handle medicated baths for him a couple times a week.
