Meet Beau — Our Brave, Sweet Boy 🐾 Beau is such a sweet, intelligent boy who clearly had some training in his past. He’s a smart pup who picks up on things quickly and truly wants to please his people. While Beau enjoys being outside, he currently feels most comfortable indoors where he knows he’s safe. We’re not entirely sure what he experienced before coming into rescue, but because of his past, he can be a bit skittish at times. That said, Beau is incredibly brave — with a trusted person by his side, he adjusts quickly to everyday noises like lawnmowers, tractors, and even wood splitters. Garage doors, however, are still a bit scary for him, and he may retreat to a safe hiding spot when he hears them. Beau has had his share of setbacks, but being in a loving, stable environment is helping his true personality shine. We’re seeing more of a happy, relaxed Beau every day, and it’s incredibly rewarding to watch him grow more confident. He gets along well with other dogs and has a gentle, calm demeanor around other animals. Cats, ducks, and even turkeys don’t bother him — he’s simply curious and will politely sniff or give them a soft “kiss.” He was once housebroken, but he’ll need some patience and consistency as he settles back into a routine. The good news is that Beau is crate trained and actually finds comfort there. He was even trained to go into his crate and wait for his meals, and he seems to prefer eating in that safe, cozy space. Beau will do best with a patient, understanding family who can continue building his confidence and showing him that the world is a safe place. In return, you’ll get a loyal, loving companion who just needs a little time to fully blossom.
