About Genie

Genie is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees, affectionately termed a 'failed livestock guardian.' She showed little interest in her duties and often escaped the farm, leading her previous owner to seek a new home for her. Now, Genie has embraced the life of a house dog and has no intention of returning to farm life. She is a sweet and gentle soul, taking her time to warm up to new faces, but once she does, expect a friendly Pyr paw to remind you she’s there. Though she was previously adopted by a family with young children, they realized she would thrive better in a household with older kids who respect her boundaries. Genie coexists well with other dogs, especially those that are more laid-back; however, she prefers a tranquil environment and isn’t fond of overly energetic pups. Living as a solo dog might be ideal for her, but she’s also fine with cats. This chill girl enjoys a fenced yard for basking in the sun and appreciates daily walks. Genie would do best with an owner experienced in the breed. Ready to give Genie the loving home she deserves? Apply to adopt today!
