About Elvira
Meet Elvira. Elvira found her way to us after being discovered on the side of I-95 with a broken hind leg. Thankfully, after a successful surgery to repair her leg, she has flourished in the care of two wonderful foster homes. Her current foster shares that Elvira is a special girl with a spunky personality and excellent manners. More than anything, Elvira craves companionship. She loves to spend time with her people, relishing in pets, hugs, and kisses. Meeting new folks makes her tail wag, and she’s also excited to greet other dogs during walks. One delightful discovery is her love for tennis balls. Elvira gets a kick out of playing fetch or simply chewing on a ball when she’s lounging. She’s not just playful; she’s smart too. With her food motivation, she quickly figures out treat puzzles and knows commands like sit, lay down, and shake. If you ask her to “go to your kennel,” she will do so without hesitation. Though recovering from her leg injury, Elvira’s spirit remains high. She has abundant energy and needs gentle reminders to take it easy. Loud noises can make her a bit anxious, but a little gentle reassurance helps her settle right down. Elvira is around 1-2 years old, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations.
