Like many in his breed, he forms a strong bond with his person, finding joy in close proximity whether it’s curled up on the couch or nestled in your lap, always ready for one more belly rub. Though Ernesto can be hesitant with new faces, especially preferring men, a little patience goes a long way. Once he trusts you, he becomes a devoted companion, rolling onto his back for belly rubs and cherishing every moment spent together. He’s fully house trained and boasts excellent manners. After a recent dental visit, his smile is sparkling, and he takes his heart medications like a champ. His future family should be committed to his ongoing medication routine to keep him happy and healthy. Ernesto gets along well with cats and other dogs, particularly smaller ones. He's comfortable around larger dogs as long as they are calm and respectful of his space. A quieter environment with older, respectful children or calm adults will suit him best.
