After years as a house dog, she’s fully house-trained and seamlessly fits into home life. While she has the look of an athlete, don’t be fooled: she’s more of a couch potato at heart and would rather spend her days lounging next to her favorite people than running marathons. Canela knows all the basics: she can come, sit, down, stay, and heel with ease. She’s happily joined us on various outings, impressing everyone with her calm demeanor and eagerness to please, especially when treats are involved. Although Canela has a history of conflict with another dog in her previous home, she has shown herself to be calm and indifferent toward other dogs since arriving. We believe she would thrive as the only dog in her new home, or with an experienced adopter who can introduce her to other dogs slowly and thoughtfully. This affectionate girl is searching for a calm, loving home where she can enjoy the comforts of family life and be close to her people.
