Meet Moonpie! This wonderful Basset Hound has a special talent for using her long ears to mop the floor and excels at cozy couch naps. She arrived at our rescue after a breeding situation led to the urgent displacement of 15 basset hounds, just two weeks before giving birth to five lovely puppies. Moonpie was a gentle and attentive mother, but now that her pups are ready for their next chapter, it's time for her to find her forever home. Although she’s a bit shy at first and unsure about strangers, Moonpie blossoms in a predictable environment where she knows the people around her. She's a delightful combination of playful and lazy. Following her nose, she is often found hoping for a plate of leftovers after meals, and if she doesn't get one, you might find her lounging on the dining room table! Moonpie would thrive in a calm home with another dog that has a similar temperament, particularly if it’s a basset hound. She’s great with kids—provided they're calm and respectful—and is friendly with other dogs and even cats. She is already spayed and house trained, though she is still making progress with crate training. If you're looking for a loving companion, Moonpie’s ready to join you on lazy afternoons and gentle adventures. Please consider giving her the forever home she deserves!
