About Rufus
Meet Rufus, a stunning 1.5-year-old, 47 lbs Staffie mix searching for a loving forever home. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and embodies sweetness. With a medium energy level, Rufus enjoys both adventures and cozy downtime at home. Rufus has a social nature with other dogs and enjoys playing with both small and large companions. He’s great at interpreting their signals when it’s time to take a break. He walks well on a leash, displaying calm behavior around other dogs. A home with another playful dog would be ideal for him. Rufus is polite and well-mannered—he’s both potty trained and crate trained. He sleeps soundly in his crate and feels comfortable relaxing there when home alone. Living with a cat hasn't posed any problems; he ignores them, and he has done well with children aged nine and older. Affection is Rufus’s love language. He adores toys, treats, belly rubs, and cuddling on the couch. He forms deep connections with his family, especially women, but may need gradual introductions to men. With some patience, you’ll win his heart, and he’ll be a loyal companion. One funny tidbit about Rufus is that he once didn’t understand dog beds and destroyed a few before he figured it out. Now, he appreciates having a comfortable spot to curl up in. While he isn’t fond of baths and sometimes needs help getting into the car, he generally takes everything in stride. Rufus will thrive in a loving home that offers him a bit of time to adjust. Once settled, he’ll show you infinite love and loyalty. Rufus is currently fostered in Mooresville, NC, but can be transported to an approved adopter. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
