About Basil
Meet Basil, a lovely brown tabby cat with a hint of white. Though her history remains a mystery, her gentle demeanor shines through. Basil prefers slow introductions to new faces and environments. It takes her a moment to feel at ease, but when she does, cheek and chin scratches bring her genuine happiness. Basil is currently a bit shy and understandably cautious in the shelter. While she does lean into affection, she still retreats to her den when feeling overwhelmed. She responds positively to treats and is gradually warming up, but she'll need a patient, understanding adopter who can respect her space. Ideally, she's looking for a home with someone experienced with cat behavior, especially with fearful cats.
