About RitaMaggie May

Meet RitaMaggie May, previously known as Mama Rita. She and her eight puppies were on the brink of being euthanized at a high-kill shelter in California. Thankfully, a caring foster stepped up just in time to help them. After her puppies found homes, Maggie May waited patiently for her turn, believing she had found safety and love. Unfortunately, she was returned due to an incident involving chickens, which wasn’t disclosed during her adoption. Despite this, Maggie May is genuinely sweet and calm. She loves giving kisses and enjoys being close to her humans. She walks well on a leash, has a strong appetite for food, and understands basic commands like "come" and "no." Although initially shy around new people, she opens up beautifully and shows her affectionate side once trust is established. She thrives in the presence of children, adults, cats, and other dogs, though she prefers to stay away from chickens.
