About Rufus
Meet Rufus! This charming three-year-old Chiweenie is a delightful 20 lbs of personality. Though he lost an eye due to an injury he suffered before coming to the shelter, it hasn’t diminished his joyful spirit at all. Happiness is what Rufus shares best, and if you’re looking for a loyal buddy for long walks and cozy snuggles, he’s your guy. Rufus is calm, gentle, and house-trained. He treats every space with respect and prefers to chew on his own toys. This sweet pup gets along fantastically with children, other dogs, and even cats. He lacks food aggression, enjoying his meals at a measured pace instead of gobbling them down. His perfect day would involve a morning stroll, lounging in the yard soaking up the sun, and cuddling with you on his dog bed. He’s well-behaved around people and follows commands beautifully. Although he’s okay alone for extended periods, Rufus would thrive with someone who can spend more time with him, like a remote worker or retiree seeking a calm, loving companion. He prefers a serene environment, as he can be sensitive to loud noises. All he wants is a warm spot in the sun to relax in and a beloved person to come home to.
