About Poppy

Meet Poppy, a 3-year-old, 47 lb brindle beauty with a heart full of love and the most expressive ears. Her journey hasn’t been easy; found roaming the busy streets of Houston without shelter or food, she was taken to an overcrowded shelter where families overlooked her again and again. Just when her future seemed uncertain, a foster family stepped in, giving her a shot at the life she deserves. Over a year later, Poppy is still waiting for her forever home. She's friendly and greets everyone like a long-lost friend. Living in an apartment with another dog, she does great and is house-trained; no chewing or messes. Poppy enjoys staying active, with regular walks and trips to the dog park where she meets many friends. She loves to run, play chase, and soak up the fun. Car rides? She’s all in. While she has met children and done well, her spirited energy is better suited for older kids, around 12 and up. With a delightful mix of playful energy and affectionate sweetness, Poppy is ready to start her next chapter with a family that will cherish her.
