About RitaMaggie May

Meet Maggie May, formerly known as Mama Rita. She and her eight puppies narrowly escaped a high-kill shelter in California, thanks to the quick actions of rescuers. After her puppies found homes, Maggie May looked forward to a loving family of her own, but was unfortunately returned because she killed some chickens, a detail not disclosed before her adoption. Despite this, she remains a sweet and calm dog who thrives on affection. Maggie May gives plenty of kisses and loves to stay close to her people. Sheโ€™s great on a leash and is very food motivated, helping her learn commands like 'no' and 'come' quickly. Initially shy with new acquaintances, once she learns to trust, she becomes extremely affectionate. Maggie May gets along well with children, adults, cats, and dogs, though chickens are a definite no for her. If youโ€™re interested in meeting Maggie, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org and text 775-846-3773. Click apply to start the adoption process.
