All American Kai is ready to find his forever family. This Lab and Australian Cattle Dog mix is a sweet, affectionate boy who’s currently about 7 months old. Weighing in at 55 lbs, he has some growing to do, but his love for his humans is already immense. Kai is naturally protective and kept alert, making him a great guardian with a majestic bark that can be heard across the yard. He enjoys toys, sticks, and playing with other dogs, alongside being a professional napper. Settling well in his crate, he also relishes quiet time, but beware, his adorable snoring is hard to miss! Kai can be skittish at first due to limited socialization in the shelter, but he’s made strides with his foster family, learning to walk confidently on a leash. While he’s been curious about cats, he has shown no aggression. The ideal home for Kai would be with experienced, patient humans who understand timid dogs and are committed to helping him adjust. Having another dog in the home would be a great advantage for building his confidence. Kai is gentle with children once he knows they are safe, so a home with dog-savvy kids would be ideal.
