Meet Matcha, also known as Matcha Latte. This sweet girl is estimated to be around 1-2 years old and weighs about 40 lbs. She was found abandoned in a car with another dog, and at that time, she was dangerously underweight. Now, Matcha is a healthy, medium-sized dog discovering what a good life truly means. Despite her tough beginnings, Matcha is a happy and loving pup. She enjoys playing with other dogs and cozying up on the couch, particularly under a blanket. This girl is obsessed with toys, especially those with squeakers, though toys don’t last long with her enthusiasm. Fortunately, she leaves shoes and pillows alone! Matcha is learning to navigate her fear of new people. She can be initially reactive but, once you earn her trust, she becomes incredibly affectionate, often seeking closeness. She seems to be more wary of men, suggesting a possible history of abuse, but with time, treats, or a new toy, she transforms into a loyal companion. While Matcha is not a fan of vet visits—requiring muzzling and calming medication—there’s hope that she may overcome this with patience. She is crate trained and house trained, although she treats baby gates as her personal hurdles. Ideally, she would thrive in a home with older children due to her playful nature, and while she enjoys the company of other dogs, it’s not a strict requirement.
