McGraw is all that you’d expect from a beagle—curious, intelligent, playful, and ready for his next adventure. He thrives outdoors, loves long sniff walks, and feels happiest when he has a job to do or a puzzle to solve. This is a smart boy with a passion for learning. He’s food motivated and eager to please, having already mastered several commands like sit and come. McGraw walks well on a leash and is crate trained, content to sleep peacefully through the night. He enjoys frozen Kongs and scent games that challenge his busy beagle brain. Once he builds trust, he loves being close to his people, truly wanting to be part of the family. He’ll flourish in an experienced adult-only home with a calm, structured environment. McGraw needs someone who understands dog behavior and is committed to his continued training. His ideal family will provide consistent routines, daily physical exercise, and plenty of mental stimulation through scent work and food puzzles. Transparency is key, so it’s important to note his resource guarding tendencies around high-value items. He may also become overstimulated during interactions, showing mouthing or nipping behavior if pushed beyond his comfort level. McGraw can react to other dogs as well, but with ongoing training, he has made positive strides. McGraw needs a quiet space of his own and a routine to thrive. Calm, short interactions and positive reinforcement for settled behavior are essential. He’s looking for understanding, not perfection.
