Maximus
AvailableMaximus is a large adult male Domestic Short Hair cat, approximately 2 years and 11 months old. He is neutered and has up-to-date vaccinations. Maximus resides in Stratham, NH, and weighs about 12.6 lbs. He prefers an independent lifestyle and is looking for a working home where he can thrive.
About Maximus
Meet Maximus! Maximus is on the lookout for a very special home where he can thrive as a working barn cat. Given his previous history and temperament, he'll be happiest in a barn, stable, workshop, or similar setting, helping to control rodent populations. Working cats like Maximus provide a natural form of pest control for property owners while needing just a safe space, regular meals, fresh water, and shelter. In return, they enjoy their freedom to live independently. Maximus can become overstimulated by too much handling. He prefers to set the pace for interactions and isn't looking to be a lap cat, and that's perfectly fine! He needs someone who understands his boundaries and respects them, allowing him to feel comfortable and contribute in ways that suit his nature. His compatibility with other animals is unknown, so any introductions to resident pets should be approached carefully if they will share the same space. Every cat deserves a home where they can succeed, and for Maximus, that means finding a safe working environment where he can embrace his independent spirit. If you have a barn, farm, greenhouse, warehouse, or another suitable property, Maximus may be the hardworking feline partner you've been searching for. Stop by the NHSPCA during open hours to learn more! The center is open Friday to Tuesday from 11am to 4pm, and Thursdays from 11am to 7pm.
