Meet Rusty! Rusty is a playful 4-month-old Shepherd mix who's a bundle of energy. Weighing about 20 pounds, he has a big personality and an even bigger love for playtime. His curious nature and goofy antics ensure everyone around him has a smile on their face. This friendly pup gets along well with both other dogs and cats, though he's still figuring out that not everyone wants to play as much as he does. If another animal gives him the signal to back off, he respects their space without hesitation. He’s even shown good behavior around caged birds. Like any young pup, Rusty is working on his indoor manners and does well with frequent outdoor breaks. He’s crate trained and easily goes into his “house,” especially when there’s a tasty treat involved. As long as he’s taken out when he signals his need, he keeps his crate clean. Full of energy, Rusty adores squeaky and crinkly toys, plus he enjoys tug-of-war and fetch, although returning toys is still a work in progress! He’s eager for adventure but knows how to wind down for a well-earned nap. Rusty learns quickly, walks nicely on a leash, and rides well in a car. He’s been taught to stay off the furniture with a simple command. This enthusiastic pup would flourish in a home that’s committed to his ongoing training. Neutered and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, Rusty is ready to find his forever family who will cherish him as a lifelong companion.
