Meet Remington! This loyal and affectionate Australian Shepherd found himself looking for a new home after spending five years with his family. When they faced a divorce, they needed to rehome him, and that's when we stepped in to rescue him. You might be surprised to learn that he tipped the scales at 102 pounds, which is significantly higher than his ideal weight of around 60 pounds. Remington is a typical Aussie in the best sense—smart, cuddly, and attentive. Despite being on the heavier side, he's mellow at the moment. His wonderful foster family is helping him with a healthy diet and daily walks, all of which he loves. Remi currently shares his home with friendly dogs and cats and gets along wonderfully with them. He knows basic commands like "sit" and "hug," showcasing his great behavior. This gentle giant adores kids and has a special fondness for young humans, likely from his previous life with a teenager. While he's a bit protective of his food during mealtime, mainly due to his weight-loss plan, we recommend feeding him separately for now. Remi is full of love and ready for a family that will help him reach his ideal weight, ensuring he enjoys a future filled with hikes and cuddles.
