About Penelope
Meet Penelope! This sweet girl had a rough start when she was dumped in a crate outside of the WaterBark, but a loving foster opened up her home and her heart to her. Now, after receiving all her vet care and learning to be a cherished house dog, she’s ready to find her forever home. Penelope is a petite companion at about 25 pounds, perfect for someone who can spend a lot of time at home. Her foster mom describes her as playful, clever, devoted, and a bit stubborn. She's equal parts dachshund and piranha, darting around and leaping with the energy of Tigger. This adorable girl recently figured out how to sneak food, showing her resourcefulness! She has formed a special bond with her foster mom, barking at anyone who approaches her person. While she enjoys playing with her toys, she thrives on human interaction. Although she hasn't quite mastered leash walking—preferring to hop on her back feet—she loves car rides, settling comfortably in either the passenger seat or her kennel. Penelope would be happiest in a home where she is the center of attention. She does well with her foster dog brother but can be a bit vocal when meeting new dogs. With time and proper introductions, she could warm up to a tolerant canine companion, though she prefers to shine as the star of the show. She would do best in a home with older children who understand her playful nibbles. If Penelope sounds like a good fit for your family, apply online to meet her today!
