About Avery
Avery is wondering, "Wasn't I supposed to be forever?" At just 2 years old, this beautiful Redbone Coonhound is back at the shelter through no fault of her own. She was adopted as a puppy, but her family couldn't keep her safely contained with an underground fence. Avery is everything you’d want in a best friend—friendly, affectionate, playful, and devoted. Her favorite toy is a stuffed squirrel, and she's always eager to earn a tasty treat. There’s nothing she loves more than curling up on the couch next to her favorite human. Avery is house-trained, walks nicely on a harness, and has mastered commands like sit, down, and shake. She’s lived happily with both dogs and cats and enjoys playing with kids. While she might bark at them initially, once she realizes they're friends, she joins in the fun. Avery isn't just looking for another temporary home; she seeks a family to love her forever. Could that be you?
