Meet Daphne! Daphne was discovered as a stray in Texas, and after raising her puppies, it’s finally time for her to find a loving home. She has proven to be good with children, cats, and other dogs in her previous foster home. However, her herding instincts suggest she might be best in a home without very young children. This gentle shepherd mix has a sweet personality. She can be a bit shy at first, but once she feels secure, her affectionate nature shines through. She adores cuddling up next to her humans and enjoys leisurely walks. While she walks well on a leash, new sights and sounds can sometimes distract her. Loud noises or other dogs may startle her, but she responds well to encouragement and redirection. Daphne is learning quickly, making strides in potty training and household routines. Although she may not be highly treat-motivated, she improves with consistency and positive reinforcement. She’s still figuring out what’s okay to chew and benefits from being steered toward her toys. Daphne would thrive in a steady, patient home that offers structure, helping her gain confidence and become the loving companion she’s meant to be. You’ll find her lounging nearby, observing as you go about your day, or simply enjoying the sunshine outside. Daphne sleeps well in her crate at night and settles nicely when her person is around, although she may need some extra support to manage mild separation anxiety. A home where someone works from home would be ideal. Daphne has a playful side, too, and would enjoy a yard where she can run and explore.
