About Balto
Balto is a delightful 2-year-old male Alaskan Husky who brings plenty of affection and energy. Rescued in late March 2026, he was found in a fenced yard near Baker City and has since thrived in a training program at the state prison. This sweet-natured dog knows around 25 commands and is potty trained. With a long, beautiful coat featuring gray, blue, and silver, he weighs about 50 pounds. Balto is highly active and requires significant daily exercise. He enjoys leash walks, agility exercises, and playtime with friendly dogs. While he gets along well with other dogs, he can be a bit exuberant with females and needs monitoring until he learns to play gently. Although he has not yet been around cats or small children, his calm demeanor indoors makes him a great companion at home. Balto would thrive in a household with a secure, 5-6 foot fenced yard where he can frolic and unwind with his family. This well-adjusted dog would make an ideal addition for those who can provide him with daily workouts and companionship. Ready to meet a lovable companion? Hit apply to start the adoption process!
