About Rocky
Meet Rocky, a one-year-old male German Shepherd Dog residing at the Montgomery County SPCA in Amsterdam, NY. He came to the shelter with his brother Bandit and has been slowly overcoming his initial fears. With each passing day, Rocky grows more comfortable, forming bonds with the staff who have invested time in gaining his trust. Though Rocky can be cautious with new people, he’s a loving companion who looks to his human for guidance. He’s protective of those he cares about, but his barks don't come with bites. Rocky thrives on one-on-one time over toys and enjoys walks, showcasing his good leash manners. Although he’s yet to experience hiking, he loves swimming and has a blast during pool time at the shelter. Rocky previously lived with dogs and, while he may take a little time to warm up, he generally gets along well with them. He’s house trained and ready to find a family that understands his past and supports him in his journey to feel loved.
