Oak
AvailableOak is a small, male Domestic Short Hair kitten. Though he is very young, his environment has made him a bit shy, so he needs a calm and understanding home. He hasn’t been altered yet but is available for pre-adoption in Santa Cruz, CA. He’s still learning to trust humans and would benefit from a home with other friendly cats to guide him.
About Oak
Meet Oak and the Tree kittens! These little ones have had a shaky start, arriving at the shelter feeling fearful and unsure. They were raised on a property with their parents, originally part of an unplanned litter. Concerned for their safety, the owner brought them to the shelter to protect them from wildlife and busy roads. Oak is still getting used to human interactions but is showing signs of progress through fun playtime and tasty Churru treats. An ideal home for Oak would be with cat-savvy adopters who can provide the patience he needs during this transition. Outgoing resident cats could really help him adapt and learn that the world is a friendly place. While these kittens have been accustomed to the outdoors, it's important for their health and safety that they remain indoor cats moving forward. A catio could be a wonderful compromise, giving them outdoor experiences safely. These kittens are available for pre-adoption, so come meet Oak, fall in love, and be ready to bring him home after his spay surgery. Note that our Santa Cruz location's shelter hours are 11 AM to 6 PM every day! Be sure to arrive by 4 PM if you want to meet the kittens out of their kennel.
