About Maple
Meet Maple, one of the Tree kittens! She and her siblings arrived at the shelter feeling a bit fearful and unsure of their surroundings. Having spent their early days on a property with their parents, they were brought to safety by an owner concerned about the dangers of wildlife and traffic. While they’re still a little nervous, Maple is learning to trust humans through play and positive interactions—especially with lots of Churru treats. This sweet baby is looking for patient, cat-savvy adopters who can help her adjust. She’ll likely thrive as a companion to more outgoing resident cats, who can show her that the world isn’t so scary after all. While she has experienced the outdoors, her health and safety require her to be kept indoors from now on. A catio setup could provide her with outdoor enrichment without compromising her safety. Maple is available for pre-adoption, meaning you can meet her now and bring her home after her spay surgery. Come visit the shelter in Santa Cruz—open every day from 11 AM to 6 PM—to meet her!
