About Shelly
Introducing super sweet Shelly! This 2-year-old, 7-pound Shih Tzu was surrendered to Zoe's House from a commercial breeder. Shelly's early life must have been tough, as she was frightened and shaky when she arrived at her foster home. Thankfully, her foster family has shown her patience, allowing her to discover that humans can be kind and that affection feels good. Though she’s made great strides, Shelly remains timid around strangers, and her future family will need to be patient and understanding as she warms up. Shelly forms strong bonds with those who spend time with her. She closely follows her foster mom and truly enjoys the attention she receives from her. However, she’s a bit hesitant around children. While it's okay for her to stay in her crate when her foster family is away, she'd ideally prefer a home where someone is present most of the time. Get excited if you have a small dog! Shelly gets along well with them and would be happy with a playful companion. However, she’s scared of big dogs. While she loves toys and would enjoy a fenced yard to play in, regular walks on a leash work too. She is progressing well with her potty training, provided she’s taken out consistently. Shelly is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and has even had her teeth cleaned. Shelly is all set for her forever home! Is it with you? Start the journey and fill out an application today!
