About Mya

Meet Mya, affectionately called “My-My” by those who know her best. She’s an 8-year-old Yorkie, Shih Tzu, and Maltese mix with long apricot beige fur and a gentle, loving nature that shines through. Mya absolutely thrives on being near people and fits right in with just about any crowd—she gets along well with kids, other dogs, and cats. Every day is better when she’s close to her people. Mya’s journey hasn’t been easy. After losing her home due to her previous owner’s hardship, she needed a good amount of medical attention, arriving overweight and with yeast infections in her ears and paws. Even now, she’s on a prescription allergy diet and daily Apoquel for her skin. A sebaceous cyst between her eyes will need removal once she’s healthier. Mya remains patient, affectionate, and trusting, despite the challenges. She is currently house trained and up to date on vaccinations. Mya does still have some recovery ahead, but her sweetness hasn’t faded. She’ll be ready for her new family once she’s fully healthy and strong. Think you might be the family she’s waiting for?
