Meet Salem! Salem is a calm and reserved companion who enjoys some lap sitting but prefers not to be picked up. She loves gentle head scratches and being brushed, but loud or unpredictable voices are a definite no for her. Once she acclimates to her new environment, she tends to be content and low-maintenance. Salem came into care due to medical issues that her previous owner couldn't manage. She has had her spay surgery and spent some time in foster care, recovering and receiving treatment. Now feeling much better, she's ready for a loving home where she can truly thrive. While she’s a delightful blend of cuddly and independent, it’s important to give her time to settle in at her own pace. A quiet, safe environment will help her shine. Expect her to enjoy the sunlight in cozy spots around the house, allowing you to do your daily activities undisturbed. Encouragement to stay active is still vital, though, as she enjoys playing, scratching, and climbing. Regarding other pets, Salem has lived with a small dog and might do well with a calm and respectful canine companion. Her past experiences with other cats have been stressful, so careful consideration should be given to her future housemates.
