About Poppy
Meet Poppy! This affectionate little lap dog is settling into her new life after being released from a commercial breeder. At just 1.5 years and 14 lbs, she’s on a journey of discovery, learning what it means to be a family pet. A recent DNA test revealed she's a mix of Yorkie and Mini Aussie, among other breeds. Poppy is kennel-trained and enjoys taking her favorite toys in with her. While she may initially be shy around new faces, she's making great progress and needs a patient family to help her gain confidence. Her potty training is going well, and she remains accident-free in her kennel and at home when taken outside regularly. She thrives with access to a securely fenced backyard where she can play and run. Walks on a leash are still a new adventure, but with encouragement—especially from another small dog—she’ll adapt quickly. Poppy flourishes best around smaller dogs, as larger ones can be intimidating. Because of her gentle nature, she’s looking for a quiet home without children. A physical fenced yard is required to keep her safe. During her adjustment period, she may bark or try to assert herself with unfamiliar people, a common trait in small dogs. With time and understanding, Poppy will continue to blossom into the confident companion she wants to be. Poppy is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find her forever home. She will need regular grooming to keep her looking her best. Ready to meet her? Apply today to start the adoption process.
