About Charlie

Charlie is a lovable senior Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix, born in April 2011. He needs a new home as his previous owner faces health challenges. Charlie prefers a calm environment where someone is home most of the time, as he doesn’t do well being left alone for long periods. Though Charlie's vision and hearing are not what they used to be, he's otherwise in good health and medication-free. He enjoys his outdoor time and loves to nap in a peaceful setting, especially on a cozy blanket outside. While initially shy with strangers, he warms up quickly and doesn’t mind visitors once he knows they're friends. Regular potty breaks are needed, as well as grooming sessions to keep him comfortable. Charlie is house trained and will let you know when he needs to go out, often communicating through light barking or whining. He knows basic commands and has been crate trained, enjoying his own little space when it’s quiet time. While we are unsure about how he interacts with other dogs, cats, or young children, he has been fine with the family and friends that come by his home.
