About Tawny

Tawny is a sweetheart who captured hearts when she was rescued from a hoarding situation. Despite the neglect she faced, her warm disposition shone through as she approached rescuers in search of love and attention. At around 6-7 years old, this Australian Cattle Dog, possibly purebred, currently weighs 72 pounds, about 18 pounds more than ideally recommended for her size. Tawny is on a healthy weight loss journey, benefiting from portion control and daily walks, making the process manageable for her future adopter. This lovely girl is sociable and enjoys the company of both large and small dogs. Her ideal home would have a canine companion, especially a friendly male dog, as she thrives in a multi-dog environment. Tawny is also great with cats, having lived with two without any issues. She is house trained and has perfect potty habits in her foster home. Her low-energy nature means she enjoys relaxing, often napping belly up, but she also appreciates a daily walk. Although Tawny can be a bit anxious when left alone without another dog, she’s done well in her crate, where she feels comfortable. She enjoys car rides, loading easily into vehicles, and is not reactive on leash. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested negative, plus current on all preventatives. For $200, her adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Tualatin, or Portland. Ready to make Tawny a part of your family?
