Meet Gus, a charming 3-year-old Poodle mix who weighs about 35 pounds. This intelligent dog shines in obedience training, knowing commands like sit, down, and come. He has perfected the art of patiently waiting for an invitation to join you on the couch, where he transforms into a professional snuggle consultant. Gus is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. He's a pro at fetch, and his fantastic eye contact shows his eagerness to please. While he’s protective, his previous incidents of nipping are managed well by a crate when visitors arrive. Once he feels secure, he’s more than ready to make friends. Though he can be unsure when meeting new dogs, especially in tight spaces, positive reinforcement works wonders for him. He’s done well in doggy daycare and at the groomer, showing that he has strong social potential. Gus would do best in a home without young children, where a confident leader can help him adjust to new environments and offer clear communication. He’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. To help you and Gus thrive together, you’ll receive two free training sessions with his adoption from Dayton Dog Den.
