About Melvin
Melvin is a total lovebug and an expert cuddle partner, ready to shower you with kisses. He understands basic commands and is motivated by treats. Coming from a hoarding situation where food was sparse, he requires a slow feeder to help him enjoy mealtime without rushing. Heβs learning to take turns with treats alongside his foster brother and gets along well with him. Though he sometimes hoards attention, he's gradually understanding the importance of sharing with other pets. When it comes to grooming, Melvin excels but isnβt fond of baths. He's a bit shy when it comes to strangers and may need patience from his new family. Once he feels safe, he will undoubtedly return the love tenfold. He is currently potty pad trained and will likely adapt to housebreaking with a secure yard. If you're looking for a loyal companion who needs a little time to warm up, Melvin is the perfect fit. He does wonderfully with dogs and kids, but keep in mind that he might be a little hesitant on walks. Dogs are placed based on suitability rather than first-come, first-served, ensuring a match for everyone. Be prepared for a rewarding wait as you build a bond with Melvin.
