About Layla Arriving D

Meet Layla! This sweet girl may come off as a bit shy at first, and she might bark when new people enter her space. However, give her a moment to get comfortable, and sheโ€™ll transform into an affectionate, playful companion. Layla enjoys being outside, going for walks, and splashing around in water. Previously living in a neglectful situation has made her a bit cautious, but with love and patience, she has discovered the joys of cozy laps and gentle ear scratches. Layla is mostly house trained and has a cute little routine when it's time to go outside. She's also a fantastic car rider, preferring to settle quietly on your lap. Right now, her favorite toy is a Santa stuffie that she loves to carry around. Though she's a little possessive of her toys and treats, she thrives best in a home that understands her need for personal space with other pets. Layla can feel anxious in a crate and would benefit from a family willing to help build her confidence. If you can be patient, she promises to bring plenty of joy and laughter into your life. Layla is coming from Texas and will be arriving in Minnesota on 7/11/2026. She will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between 9 AM and noon. Plan for her arrival as there are no accommodations for pickups outside this time. Layla is part of the Foster to Adopt Program, so visit Ruff Startโ€™s page for more details about this option. Right now, Layla is undergoing treatment for heartworm disease, and her activity will need to be limited during her recovery. The rescue will cover the treatment costs, and they will provide heartworm preventatives until her retest is due. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling the retest and any follow-up prescriptions needed with their veterinarian. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
