About Vaquero

Vaquero is a vibrant black mouth cur mix who’s found a new lease on life at around 5 years old. Rescued from difficult circumstances, he weighed just 46 lbs and suffered from severe mange when he was first discovered in Edinburg, Texas, along the border. Now, he’s made a remarkable recovery, brimming with happiness and excitement every time he meets someone new. This once timid dog now seeks affection, soaking up pets and love from everyone he encounters. Vaquero thrives in the company of other dogs and bonds beautifully with them. He’s also had positive interactions with cats and would do well in a home with older, gentle children who respect his chill side. While he enjoys playtime, Vaquero is very much a couch potato, relishing relaxing moments, watching TV, and taking leisurely car rides with his nose pressed against the window. He’s house trained, neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccinations. Vaquero deserves a forever home where he can truly settle in and be loved. Consider giving this charming boy the chance he’s long awaited!
