About Betsy

Betsy is a lively 3-year-old Golden Retriever mix weighing about 53 lbs, with an expected final weight around 58 lbs. She embodies a playful, silly spirit and is generally a joyful companion. Currently, she’s mastering commands like sit and kennel. Housebroken, crate trained, and leash trained, Betsy even enjoys car rides. She’s a little mischievous when it comes to food, often jumping up and engaging in what we call 'counter surfing'—which she insists is her way of helping in the kitchen. Betsy is great with other dogs and children, though she can unintentionally topple small kids over in her enthusiasm. Betsy is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She is heartworm positive and will need ongoing treatment through our veterinarian in Chester, NJ. She’s eager for an adopter or foster nearby, or willing to travel for her care. An appointment will be available near the end of August. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
