About Captain
Meet Captain, a charming senior Dachshund seeking a loving forever home. At 14 years old, he still enjoys playing fetch and loves to zoom around the yard. Captain is calm in the car and especially enjoys snuggling on the sofa. He thrives in a gentle, predictable environment and would do best with older adults who are home often. Captain enjoys the company of another calm dog but is also content as the only furry companion. He is affectionate with older children, men, and women, but hasn't been tested with cats or small kids, so families with either might not be the best fit. Captain does face some vision and hearing loss, but he navigates his surroundings with remarkable ease using scents and familiar routines. He requires a fenced yard to explore freely. His medical routine includes a prescription steroid spray for sebaceous cysts, a joint supplement, and a special diet to keep him healthy. Captain is house trained, sweet, and will signal when he needs to go out. If you think you can provide the calm and loving environment he deserves, consider adopting him. Your new best friend is just one click away.
