About Gertie
Gertie, a remarkable adult female dog, is around 3 to 4 years old and has faced tremendous challenges in her young life. Abandoned as a puppy and living on the streets, Gertie learned to survive in a harsh world filled with danger. She endured abuse, evaded capture, and even suffered a serious injury after being hit by a car. Thankfully, a kind couple rescued her from the street, leading to surgery that changed her fate. Now in a safe environment, Gertie needs a special adopter—a patient person who can give her the time and dedication she requires. She is not a trusting dog and often retreats from strangers, but she has begun to open up to the one person she trusts. Gertie loves gentle interaction, allowing occasional kisses and enjoying treats from hand. Her ideal home would be quiet, perhaps with someone retired or working from home, as small children and other pets might overwhelm her. Gertie can only be outside in a secure area and must be walked on a leash; her past has taught her to be cautious. She craves love and safety, and in the right environment, she has the potential to blossom into a loyal companion. This special girl deserves a loving home where she can heal. If you believe you could be the right fit for Gertie, please reach out and let's see if this bond could change both your lives. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
