Meet Newf, a sweet and loving Newfoundland. She gets along well with other Newfoundlands, showing a gentle spirit without being pushy or aggressive. While she has had minimal training, she quickly picked up leash manners with just a firm voice for guidance. Newf adapts seamlessly to her surroundings, having mastered the Invisible Fence and respecting her boundaries. She loves being around people and follows her favorite humans anywhere. However, she does need supervision due to her curious nature. To ensure a comfortable environment for everyone, she sleeps in a kennel run when unsupervised. Though she’s not a fan of grooming, she tolerates it well as her foster insists, especially given her long coat. While she shows some stiffness in her back end, she trots and runs without signs of pain. We're also working through her possible separation anxiety with careful attention. Newf enjoys company and mostly ignores other dogs unless they're wrestling around. This affectionate girl is currently in a foster home northeast of Indianapolis, IN, and eager to find her forever family. A home check is required, and adopters must pick her up upon approval.
