About Mater
Mater is not your average senior dog. At 14 years young, he refuses to embrace the slow lane. The purebred Catahoula Leopard Dog still struts with a joyful bounce, relishing every walk and car ride. His leopard-spotted coat and wise brown eyes draw admiration from everyone he meets, often prompting disbelief at his age. Mater’s story reflects a deep bond with his owner. When his mom entered hospice care, her son faced a heartbreaking choice. With a demanding job and recognizing Mater’s need for companionship, he entrusted Mater to our care, believing he deserved more than solitude. Now, Mater seeks a new home where he can continue to share love and joy. He easily tolerates cats and is wonderful on a leash. A perfect co-pilot and housemate, he thrives in calm environments without frantic adventures. Mater is ready to settle beside a favorite person, supervising yard work or napping in their recliner. He is a charming companion for retirees or anyone seeking a gentle friend. If you’ve considered welcoming a senior dog, Mater exemplifies the unmatched love of seasoned companions. He’s not just old; he’s simply ready to enjoy his golden years. Every dog deserves a lifetime of love. Mater is looking for a beautiful final chapter with you.
