About Daisy Duke
Meet Daisy Duke! If you’re drawn to a pup with a wiggly little rear end, a cute nub tail, and a heart full of love, then look no further. Daisy found herself at one of Houston’s highest-kill shelters. Luckily, a volunteer spotted her during a visit for another dog. With her happy wiggles and sweet personality, she stole hearts immediately. When Daisy landed on the euthanasia list only a week later, rescue was her only option. Now, thriving in a foster home, she’s eager to find her forever family. At about 2 years old and weighing 48 pounds, Daisy is a delightful mix of playful and cuddly. She adores people and lights up whenever she meets another dog. In fact, her foster sibling—a 2-year-old cattle dog—quickly became her best friend. Daisy would love another playful dog in her forever home but would also enjoy regular adventures with other furry pals. Although we’re unsure of her feelings about cats, she does exhibit a bit of prey drive when it comes to squirrels while on walks. Daisy is potty trained, walks well on a leash, and is just an all-around good girl. At first, she can be a bit timid in the car, likely due to her past experiences, but with time and reassurance, she’s realizing those days are behind her. She possesses a mysterious blend of breeds; her adorable little hound-style howl suggests she might be part beagle mixed in with Australian Cattle Dog or Heeler. Whatever her mix, Daisy is undeniably charming and medium energy. She enjoys walks, hikes, and adventures as much as cozying up for a Netflix night. Currently in Houston, Texas, Daisy is available for adoption and transport to many areas across the country. Her adoption fee is $600, which includes transport. If you’re reading this, there’s a strong chance we have a transport stop near you. We can’t wait to find Daisy the loving home she deserves—one that will cherish her as much as we do.
